Encouraging Heroes. You can be one too.

The holiday season is one of the most expensive times of the year for most people but not for the parents who know how to hamper (wrap gifts creatively).

Gifts need not be expensive for people to appreciate them. In fact, putting a personal touch on presents can make the receiver feel more special. Here are a few ideas for creating some of the best hampers this holiday season.

Stuffed Animal Hamper

This is one of the cutest ways on how to make a stuffed animal hamper. Don’t just buy a stuffed toy from Toys R Us and then have it gift wrapped. Add a more personal touch to the toy by putting it in a plastic jar along with some decorations. In this case, wood shavings that will serve as some sort of hay at the bottom gives the hamper a nice, cage appearance. In addition, the cute lion picture and the “Do Not Feed the Animals” are nice touches that add to its overall appeal. This is a good gift to be given to little boys.

Candy hamper

Thinking of giving a gift to a sweet, little girl? This simple, yet adorable, flower candy basket will do! Turn ordinary-looking candies into something that they’d appreciate by putting a nice presentation to the gift. In this case, all you need is a small bucket and cardboard flower cutouts to put under the lollipops. Doing this is simple, attractive, and little girls will surely love the charming appearance!

Fruit Hampers

Not sure what to give your grandparents this Christmas? Fruit hampers are always a safe choice. Christmas is a time when pears, oranges, grapefruits, tangerines, red bananas, and dates are in season. Giving fruit hampers to elders will not only be beneficial to the receivers’ health but can also teach your kids the value of gifting for the sake of someone’s well being. In addition, delicious, fresh fruits are always welcomed and appreciated as gifts by the more mature people.

Remember, Christmas need not be a season of iPods and other electronic gadgets. Bring back the creativity in gift giving by making DIY presents that both kids and adults will enjoy and appreciate!
