Encouraging Heroes. You can be one too.

It’s getting common here at Earnest Parenting to get requests from authors to review their book. I got another such request recently from Fiona McGlynn, the author of i And the Great Divide. Boy am I glad I got to read this book! It is truly wonderful, and I loved every bit of it.

i And the Great Divide is a story about the letter i and her 2 parents, t and n. Life together is perfect, and they make great words together. Then, T and N start fighting and the worst happens: the family goes through a divorce. This story is about how i deals with the tragedy. The book is designed to leave kids in divorce feeling loved, peaceful, and self-expressed.

Children commonly blame themselves for divorce. They may try to fix the problem by acting perfect. When that fails, they may act out in frustration and despair, all the while not understanding the truth. This book addresses these issues head on and in a loving way. Here’s what the author and illustrator have to say about their book:

i And the Great Divide is available on Amazon and CreatSpace, having just come out on September 12.

If you know a family with children going through divorce or separation, this book may help.

FTC Disclosure: I was given a free copy of this book in order to write this review. All opinions are my own. I loved it and read it to my own children so that they’d understand a bit of what their peers may face.
