Encouraging Heroes. You can be one too.

You’ve heard of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, right? The one that works so hard to help eradicate breast cancer? Good. Well, I just learned about an initiative they have that I hadn’t heard of before. It’s called Kids for the Cure, and it’s part of the Annual Race for the Cure.

The 23rd Annual Susan G. Komen Global Race For The Cure is taking place on June 2, 2012 at the National Mall in Washington DC. This year, kids between the ages of five and twelve can walk or run, receive a race kit, and even have their own fundraising webpage (with parental supervision). How wonderful!

Also, there’s even a Sleep In for the Cure event that day. Heck, I love to sleep in. I wonder how I get people to pay me for that?

Just kidding.

Well. About the payment part. I was dead serious about my love of sleeping in.

Annnnyway. If you’re in the Washington DC area, please consider taking part in the race. Three out of every four dollars raised stay right in the area to help fund local services, while the rest goes to the global efforts to fight breast cancer.

Registration is open now, so head on over to the Global Race for the Cure and sign up.
