Encouraging Heroes. You can be one too.

Welcome again to Friday, Internets! Here we are at the end of the week. Are you ready for some fun? I’m happy to present 4 entries in the latest FFYF Blog Carnival. But first, my giggle:

Hubby came home with protective cups for all of the boys this week. They need to wear them for Tae Kwon Do, just in case a kick accidentally makes contact in the wrong area. I have a brother, but because he was the only boy (and because my parents have a stronger sense of decorum than Hubby and I) he was allowed to learn about manly things like jock straps in private.

Not here at Earnest Parenting….oh, no. Hubby had the boys try on the cups and straps all at the same time. TechnoBoy was demonstrating that his fit fine when I said, “Come on over here and I’ll hit you to see if it works.”

“I’d rather not,” he said in a stage whisper across the dining room. “Dad already just did.” Then he ducked into the bathroom to change.

Poor kid. Perhaps we should consider letting up on the teasing a bit around here.

On second thought: Naaaah.

So! On to the carnival submissions:

Zhu presents How To Understand Canadian Jokes | Correr Es Mi Destino posted at Correr Es Mi Destino, saying, “Humor, jokes, what’s funny and what’s not strongly differs in cultures. Canadians have a strong sense of humor, and Canadian humor is an integral part of the identity.” Warning: slight language alert in this post.

Madeleine Begun Kane presents De-Stress Or Distress? posted at Mad Kane’s Humor Blog.

Cheryl Ragsdale presents Guess Who’s Doing the Tough Guy Challenge? Hayley plus friends – Week One posted at That Girl is Funny, saying, “I’ve known Hayley to be adventurous, but I didn’t know that she was THIS adventurous. Hayley has signed up for the Tough Guy Challenge – a dangerous, dirty, wet and cold obstacle course held twice a year somewhere in England. See how she plans to prepare…”

Chris presents Alluda Majaka, South Asian Wuxia Blockbuster posted at Martial Development, saying, “Watch three insanely entertaining scenes here.”
