My boys try to act tough most of the time so it's fun to tease them when they don't. At the same time I want them to know that they can be soft when it's appropriate. You're right, boundaries are important. I aspire to teach them how to treat all human beings with the right amount of pressure. I love those whiny girl noises. Whenever guys forget that I'm a girl when we're practicing martial arts - by misjudging their physical power or muscling me too much - I make some sort of squeal girl noise - like really loud so everyone can hear it. They get the picture and scale back. It makes me laugh every time.Men shudder when they hear that girl squeal and all the other guys look up to see what's going on. Hey, you gotta use every weapon available - lol!But seriously, it's important to be able to know how much pressure is too much and to have a way of putting up good boundaries.The Mercenary will figure it out.
