3….2….1….LAUNCH!!!

banner section from new site design showing caricatures of 4 boys

Okay, I’ve been working my little fingers to the bone getting my new site ready.  I’m happy to announce that the framework is in place and we’re ready to roll.  Of course, more changes will be happening.  🙂  There are always improvements to be made.  But I’m certainly not someone who spends too much time trying to make things perfect.  Nope.  Not me.  Uh-uh.

[blinking innocently]

So, here’s the new site.  It’s called Doorway Theaters (note: the site has since been shut down), and I’m really excited about the concept.  Basically, the theaters will hang in any standard doorway and can be used for both puppet shows and theatrical performance.  When your children are done playing with it, the theater folds up easily for storage.

I originally made the theaters to sell as a fund raiser for the addiction recovery ministry I’ve been a part of locally.  All profits from the first 50 theaters are going to the center.  There are still some left in that batch so purchase soon to help the center!

I love sewing (many happy hours have been spent behind my sewing machine) so this new enterprise is an exciting one.  The boys are getting into the swing of things too.  They wanted to know yesterday if they could hire in as employees.  LOL.

Doorway theaters make a fantastic Christmas gift, especially for children between the ages of about 4 and 12.  Each theater comes with two upper curtains, one lower curtain, two suspension rods, and two puppets, all for $29.50 USD.  I will ship internationally.  (Currently the shopping cart doesn’t reflect that but that’s one of the changes coming soon.)

If you’d like to get a special discount, enter the word twitter in the special offer box of the shopping cart to get $5 off a theater.  That offer will be available until November 21, 2008 .

I’ve seen the site and it is nice! The puppets there are really cute. I’ve always wanted a puppet for myself until I already got a bit old and finally get over it. You have good intentions with the door ways and it is very nice of you to think of others rather than yourself. By the way can I comment a bi on your site? I think that it is too long on one page and there are also orange (I’m not so sure about the color sorry) big spaces below. For me I like the positively plaid doorway 🙂

This is a very fantastic idea. The kids on my house will definitely be entertained when I establish a pupper show in the doorway.

Thanks for this one. I just wonder if the shipping would be available on Asia. Please reply on this one. Thanks again.

lawyer makati, thanks for the feedback. I agree about the page length and will work on that. I think I have a good solution and will try it tonight. As for the orange big spaces below…I’m a little confused. You’re seeing that below the articles? Also, what browser are you using to view the site? I’m learning that makes a huge difference in what people see, unfortunately.

    Doris, thank you. 😀

Air Jordans, sure I’d be willing to try and calculate that for you. I will email you to get more specific information.

What a clever concept. Much better than pulling a couch away from the wall. hehe. I hope you make lots of money for your charity. And some more for you.

Air Jordans, thanks! Although the couch thing works too, lol. We’re doing our best with the fundraising. Going to a craft show on Friday woohoo!

Really a nice site! Did you do the drawings of your children by yourself, they are beautiful and really personal in style. I have two younger brothers that are twins, and sometimes 1+1 makes more than two!

Scarpe Hogan Interactive, I hired the great folks at Caricatures Now for the drawings. 🙂 Their link is on the homepage of this blog. I am thrilled with them, and hope to get more done in the future.

Assignment, thank you so much! Puppets are less popular in America than other countries, which is an interesting fact. I wonder why…
