Ive seen lots of people lose security in their jobs and thats the scariest thing to me. Its one thing for everyone not to trust the market and penny pinch a little more but when people start losing their jobs twice as fast as gaining a new one, thats when we start seeing that something i wrong.

I agree, We arent necessarily in a recession yet. My boys saw Obama's picture on People magazine at the store today with the headline "He made history" and they asked me what that meant. I had to explain that he's the first person of color to achieve that office and they were surprised. In their world, skin color makes no difference, and I've heard other parents of children about that age say the same thing. While I doubt hatred will completely be eradicated, what with people directly infecting others, I do believe it will continue to recede. That's a good thing. The definition of a recession is two quarters of decline in GDP, and we're not there yet. I find it very annoying that people are jumping to that diagnosis so quickly. Of course it is possible but I would like to see more faith in American ingenuity and mettle.I never said Obama would improve anything. I have no faith in his plans to do anything but make our economy worse what with the huge increases in spending he's proposing (and the tremendous taxe increases that will necessarily follow). Should he implement his plans I fully expect to see a reprise of the Carter years, quite frankly.Of course if I am proven wrong that would be a happy thing. I am not, however, holding my breath.

I do not believe racism is an issue all throughout America. So my question to you is, why do you think Obamas policies will increase our GDP?

very well said Amy, I know racism is still an issue all throughout america but i think our recession is still the most important thing right now, you living in Michigan especially should be concerned.
